Chelsea move one step closer to signing Monaco star
Premier League leaders Chelsea are deemed to have finalized terms with AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko ahead of a summer move to Stamford Bridge.
The France Under-21 international is also on the radar of both Arsenal and Manchester United but according to Sky Sports' Guillem Balague, it is the Blues who are winning the race.
Bakayoko has been hugely influential in the heart of the midfield for Monaco this campaign, and this has helped them gain a three-point advantage over Paris Saint-Germain as they head for their first league title since the millennium.
The Frenchman is expected to play some part for Les Bleus during the international break after he earned his maiden call-up as a replacement for injured Manchester United star Paul Pogba.
Bakayoko has been closely monitored by league rivals Arsenal and United, but it appears that the Blues have provided him the better package as they prepare themselves for a testing campaign next season - due to their involvement in the Champions League.
Chelsea are currently cruising towards their fifth English crown as they hold a 10-point lead over second-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the league standings.
