Los Blancos confident of Mbappe signing

European champions Real Madrid are reported to be preparing a world-record sum to sign AS Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe in the summer.

The 18-year-old has hit great heights since the start of February, having netted 13 goals in just 11 outings across all competitions for his side.

Premier League duo Arsenal and Manchester United have been tracking the player's progress at the Principality outfit in recent months with the latter deemed to have failed with record £95m approach earlier in the week.

Monaco have become a breeding ground for young French prospects, but the club are said to be reluctant to lose Mbappe as he could only get better in seasons to come.

According to The Mail, Los Blancos could fend out interest from both the Gunners and United this summer as they seek to lure Mbappe, who they see in the mould of Brazilian great Ronaldo.

His recent performances have earned him a break with the France national team with manager Didier Deschamps admitting that the player could feature from the off against Luxembourg in the World Cup qualifier.
