Man City monitoring Cedric Soares
Manchester City are reportedly monitoring the progress of Southampton full-back Cedric Soares ahead of a summer approach for his signature.
The Portugal international has firmed his position as the first-choice right-back with the Saints, and his displays over the past year have seen him clinch a regular role with the national team.
Soares played a key role during Portugal's Euro 2016 triumph - their first major honour in football, and this has captured the attention of top clubs including Barcelona.
According to The Star, the Citizens are keeping a close watch on the proceedings of the former Sporting man as they plan a potential swoop for his services in the summer.
Both Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov are in the final months of their City contracts, and the duo could be released to facilitate the arrival of younger but yet experienced recruits.
Soares was recruited for a fee of just £3.6m from Sporting in 2015, but Southampton are expected to demand a sum of at least £20m to let go of their asset in the summer.
