Man Utd step up interest in Luke Shaw replacement
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has expressed an interest in signing Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney in the summer transfer window.
The Scotland international is being seen as a potential replacement for Luke Shaw, who is expected to push for an Old Trafford exit in the summer.
According to The Mirror, the Red Devils are keeping a close eye on the left-sided defender as they seek to bolster their backline further during the off-season.
Mourinho is understood to favour a full-back with an attacking instinct just as Antonio Valencia, and Tierney is said to fit the bill following his impressive tally of eight assists in just 18 league outings this term.
The Red Devils are expecting to lodge an opening £10m offer for the promising youngster, but the Hoops could play hardball over negotiations given the player has a contract extending until the summer of 2021.
Tierney, who is also on the radar of league rivals Arsenal, has earned three caps for the Scotland national side to date.
