Real Madrid to offer Rodriguez as part of De Gea deal

Man Utd ready for De Gea-Rodriguez swap

Real Madrid will reportedly offer James Rodriguez as part of a transfer agreement which will see Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea switch to the Bernabeu this summer.

Rodriguez, 25, is understood to be lining up a move to Old Trafford after super-agent Jorge Mendes finalised terms over a potential contract.

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, the European champions are prepared to do business with the Red Devils, who have given up on their chances of keeping De Gea.

De Gea has been leaning for a Madrid move for a while, and his dream could be realised this summer with Zinedine Zidane wanting him as the club's number one.

The Red Devils are currently said to value De Gea at around £63m, but they could negotiate a reduced sum of £23m plus Rodriguez in order to push through an agreement in the summer.

De Gea has been the standout performer for Manchester United in recent seasons, but the club are nevertheless prepared to let him go rather than keep him against his wishes.

The Spain international came close to linking up with Real Madrid in the summer of 2015 before a faulty fax machine scuppered the deal on deadline day.
