Chelsea send scouts to track Bournemouth defender
Chelsea have reportedly joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Bournemouth right-back Adam Smith in the summer.
The Blues have had a nearly perfect campaign in the top flight, and a win over West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday night will see them lift their fifth Premier League crown.
Smith, 26, had been recently linked with a potential return to White Hart Lane with Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino looking at a suitable replacement for Kyle Walker.
However, the north London club could face competition from the Blues, who had sent scouts to watch the right-back in action during the Cherries' 2-2 against Stoke City last Saturday.
Victor Moses has been the regular at right wing-back for the Blues this term, but Conte is still looking into potential additions with Cesar Azpilicueta having now established himself in the back three.
Conte is due to continue his scouting mission on the Cherries full-back when his side host Burnley in Saturday's league encounter at Dean Court.
Smith has contributed a goal and five assists for Bournemouth, who are now assured of their successive season in the Premier League next term.
