Tottenham plan to sign Monaco attacker
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly leading the race to sign AS Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar after club officials met up with his representatives.
The north London giants gave a strong challenge for the Premier League title this season, only to lose out to Chelsea, who managed to hold onto their lead.
French publication L'Equipe suggests that Spurs will look to recruit a new forward-minded player this summer with Lemar currently topping their wishlist.
Pochettino had watched the player closely during Spurs' Champions League campaign, and he has sounded his interest to the club's hierarchy, who in turn have communicated with the player's representatives.
Lemar was in top form for the Principality during the 2016-17 season as he contributed 14 goals and 17 assists en route to their first Ligue 1 title in 17 years.
Monaco have already a key player in their title-winning run in Bernardo Silva to Manchester City, and there may be plenty more leaving the club, should their valuation be met.
Tottenham Hotspur ended their campaign with a post-season friendly against Kitchee in Hong Kong where they won by a 4-1 scoreline.
