Manchester United will reportedly make a final attempt to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, who has admitted that he could the European champions in search for regular first-team football.

The Spain international has already been the subject of a £52.4m bid from the Red Devils which Los Blancos have turned down.

Zinedine Zidane's side are currently holding out on a £78m price tag for their Spanish marksman, but United will make one last approach to sign him during the summer transfer window.

The Europa League holders are willing to up their price to £60m as they seek to prise away the unsettled striker from the Bernabeu.

Morata was largely a bench warmer during the previous campaign with Karim Benzema leading the line for the 12-time European champions.

In spite of this, the former Juventus lad managed to grab 20 goals across all competitions thus showing his overall potential on the playing field.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is likely to be released via an official statement later today, and United are hoping to use his £19m-a-wages to full effect in order to bring in a new marksman to the squad.
