Leonardo Bonucci calls Chelsea transfer rumours 'chatter'
Leonardo Bonucci has rubbished talk of a move to Chelsea and essentially confirmed he will remain at Juventus next season.
The 30-year-old centre-back was a key part of Juventus' successful season as they lifted the Serie A title for the sixth consecutive time while also picking up the Coppa Italia to complete a domestic double for the third year in a row. The Turin club almost clinched a treble but fell short in the Champions League final as they lost to Real Madrid 4-1.
Bonucci has since been linked with a move away from Juventus, with Chelsea believed to be leading the race for the Italian. A reunion with former manager Antonio Conte was cited as the main reason behind the move. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was also said to be a massive fan of the defender and thinks he could shore up City's leaky defence.
However, Bonucci has come on record to rubbish talks of a move away from Juventus.
Speaking to reporters after Italy's 3-0 win over Uruguay, Football Italia quoted Bonucci as saying: "It's just chatter. All of you [journalists] have done everything."
The defender ended the interview by pledging his future to Juventus.
This will come as a boost for Juventus following a heartbreaking Champions League loss. Manager Massimiliano Allegri recently extended his contract to 2020 while Paulo Dybala also confirmed he will remain.
