The Roma defender is inching closer to Inter Milan after the two clubs reportedly agreed on a fee for the German international.

Rüdiger has become one of Europe's hottest prospects after his move to Roma from Stuttgart. His partnership with Manolas at the back was an integral part of Roma's second place finish in the Serie A last season as the club only conceded 38 goals, the second lowest in the league.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was apparently a fan of the 24-year-old but it seems that Inter Milan have won the race for the defender.

According to Football Italia, a bid of €30 million from Inter has been accepted by Roma. Inter previously bid €25 million for the €35 million-rated Rüdiger but the report stated that the two clubs came to a consensus and have agreed to meet halfway.

The bid was only accepted after Roma confirmed the deal of Mexican international Hector Moreno from PSV Eindhoven.

Despite the signing of Moreno, the news will come as a blow for Roma as the Rüdiger-Manolas partnership was one of the best in the league. Wojciech Szczęsny has also seemingly departed Roma for Juventus after Gianluigi Buffon confirmed it in an interview.
