Manchester United are back in the hunt for Benfica attacker Anderson Talisca after they failed to acquire a work permit to secure his signature last summer.

The 23-year-old has already highlighted his intention to link up with former teammate Victor Lindelof after he revealed his contact with United boss Jose Mourinho.

Talisca played a key role for Besiktas on loan from Benfica last season as they made significant progress in both the domestic and European competitions.

He bagged an overall tally of 17 goals for the Istanbul outfit during the previous campaign and he has supposedly agreed to extend his Besiktas loan, provided he is not sold by Besiktas.

In a local interview with Brazilian outlet Globoesporte, Talisca admitted that Mourinho loves his talents, but a deal could be dependent on United matching his valuation.

The Europa League holders will have to trigger the £20m release clause on his contract with the hope that he could qualify for a UK working visa this time around.

Talisca was previously a shock target for Wolverhampton Wanderers, who recruited a string of Benfica reserves to push for promotion, which never really happened last season.
