Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly demanded a world-record £100m for goalkeeper David de Gea following a meeting with the Real Madrid hierarchy.

Real Madrid have made the signing of the Spain international their top priority for the summer following their La Liga and Champions League double last season.

According to The Star, De Gea could cost more than the initial £60m quoted with Mourinho desperate to keep hold of his number one.

However, the club would still be willing to negotiate a fee of around £45m, if they are offered Alvaro Morata as part of a player-plus-cash deal.

Morata has already agreed personal terms with the Old Trafford outfit, but the two clubs are yet to says 'Yes' on his transfer valuation with Real Madrid holding on for a £70m plus sum.

De Gea has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League in recent seasons, and this has earned him a place in the PFA Team of the Year for three years running.
