Pep Guardiola eyeing Andres Iniesta reunion

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is planning a shock attempt to lure Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta amid the uncertainty over his future at Camp Nou.

Iniesta, 33, has just 12 months left on his present deal, and this has spread speculation over his future with Juventus and Inter Milan also keen on his services.

Calciomercato suggests that the Citizens could be leading the pursuit of Iniesta owing to the player's good relationship with Guardiola.

Iniesta was at the prime of his powers under the Catalan tactician with whom he won three La Liga titles and two Champions League crowns in a four-year spell.

The former La Masia graduate is still assessing his options for the summer, but his arrival to the Etihad could improve the overall shape of the squad, which has lacked creativity in key games.
