Everton to make bid for Martin Terrier
Everton scouts have been monitoring the progress of young French starlet Martin Terrier, according to French press. L'Equipe reports that the Toffees are to make a bid to Lille for the 20-year-old winger.
West Ham, Paris St Germain, Benfica and Ajax are all amongst the clubs who have been tracking the progress of the winger but Everton are believed to be in pole position and will pay a reported £7.75 million to sign the highly rated youngster.
Terrier is to be brought in as a replacement for Gerard Deulofeu, who will move back to Spain in this transfer window.
Lille first called up Terrier to their first team squad only last season and the player scored his first professional goal for the club and appeared 11 times in Ligue 1. Terrier has also been a regular performer for France's under-20 side, having played four times in the last six months.
Terrier is comfortable playing up front or on the wing, but his preferred position is believed to be as a second striker.
