Manchester United tabled a huge offer for Nainggolan

Manchester United have reportedly made a huge offer toRadja Nainggolan in an attempt to pry him away from Roma.

Nainggolan has been on Manchester United's radar since Sir Alex Ferguson was at the club, however, both clubs were never able to reach an agreement despite some interest on the player's part to move to Old Trafford.

This past season, Nainggolan enjoyed his best ever campaign as his 15 goals in 49 games guided Roma to a second-placed finish in the Serie A behind Juventus. He also had 1,466 successful passes, created 64 chances and won 55 tackles. This has prompted many clubs to line up for the combative midfielder.

Manchester United desperately need a midfield enforcer as Michael Carrick reaches the twilight of his career. Nainggolan has proven to be both tactically capable and physically dominating when needed, making him a complete and all-round central midfielder.

According to Italian news outlet Football Italia, Ed Woodward approached the player and officially tabled a €7.5 million-a-year contract.

Speaking in an interview with Italian newspaper Il Tempo, he shrugged when he was asked about United's interest and said: "Maybe it’s true, maybe it isn’t,"

He also refused to commit his future to the club, saying: "Right now I just want to go on vacation, then we’ll see what happens."

It is highly unlikely that Roma will sell one of their best players after letting the likes of Mohamed Salah, Kostas Manolas, and Leandro Parades leave. Nainggolan is instead expected to sign a new deal with the club until 2021.
