Phil Jones, Antonio Valencia left out of Manchester Uniteds UCL trip to CSKA Moscow

United travel without four key first-team players for CSKA clash

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has taken the decision to leave out the likes of Phil Jones, Antonio Valencia and Michael Carrick for Wednesday's night Champions League game from the VEB Arena.

The Red Devils take on Russian giants CSKA Moscow on the night, and Mourinho has opted to rotate his options with Marouane Fellaini also a notable absentee with a minor injury.

Fellaini suffered an ankle knock during the first-half of the 1-0 win over Southampton last weekend, and he has not been deemed fit enough to make the 2000-mile trip to Russia.

Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof were preferred in central defence due to the European bans to Bailly and Jones last time around, and the manager could be tempted to go with the same pair against CSKA.

Manchester United have made an excellent start to their league season, and are currently tied on points (16) with leaders Manchester City - and only behind them on goal difference.
