Man United preparing £88m bid for Antoine Griezmann
Manchester United will reportedly lodge a fresh move to sign Atletico Madrid marksman Antoine Griezmann at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old had been a prime target for manager Jose Mourinho during the summer, with the player himself hinting that a deal could be on the cards.
However, the 25-year-old ultimately decided to remain in Madrid after Atleti failed in their attempt to overturn a transfer ban on registering new players.
According to ESPN, United are considering the prospect of meeting the player's €100m (£88m) release clause with Atleti having re-signed Diego Costa.
Costa is due to join Atleti when their transfer embargo lifts in January, and his arrival makes Griezmann's move to Old Trafford more realistic next summer.
Griezmann agreed on a fresh one-year extension with Atleti earlier in June after he received the assurance that his release clause would remain unchanged.
The France international will be action later tonight when Atletico Madrid host Chelsea in the Champions League group stage.
