Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has revealed that he would seek to convince Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann to move to the Emirates in the future.

The Atletico Madrid forward was strongly linked with a switch to Manchester United in the summer, but he ultimately stayed put with the Spanish club after a transfer ban restricted them from registering new players.

United are still said to be on the hunt for the 26-year-old, but Lacazette is hoping to lure Griezmann to north London by making use of their close friendship.

"We are very good friends and have lots of fun. Our nicknames for each other are Griezzy and Lacaz," he told Match of the Day magazine.

"If Griezzy visits me in London, I'm going to ask him to sign for Arsenal! We have a good chemistry and don't need to talk to understand each other's movements on the pitch."

Griezmann is currently contracted to Atleti until the summer of 2022, but he looks likely to leave the club at the end of the season with Diego Costa having been signed as his potential replacement.

Both Lacazette and Griezmann have been included in Didier Deschamps' France squad for the final World Cup qualification games against Bulgaria and Belarus.
