Ex-Chelsea star: Lucas Moura should join Arsenal

Alex wants Lucas Moura at Arsenal

Former Chelsea star Alex believes that compatriot Lucas Moura should leave Paris Saint-Germain to join Premier League club Arsenal.

Moura has found first-team chances hard to come by this term with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar preferred ahead of him for the wider positions.

The Brazil international has turned out just two times for Les Parisiens this season, and Alex suggests that he would not have waited to play a backup role at Parc des Princes.

He told L'Equipe: "If I was in his place, I would have already left to make an impact elsewhere. Spanish football could suit him – he could take advantage of the space with his speed and technique. Even if England does not seem favourable, I would like to see him at Arsenal. They play cleaner football, more technical."

Moura was initially tipped to join Alex Ferguson's Manchester United back in the summer of 2012, but he opted to snub their advances for a move to Les Parisiens six months later.

The Sao Paulo graduate has since not progressed the way he would have liked, but he has nevertheless been a valuable performer with 46 goals in over 200 appearances for the Capital outfit.

Moura's name had been associated with Arsene Wenger's side during the previous summer transfer window, but a deal never materialised.
