Jack Wilshere set for Arsenal contract renewal?
Arsenal are seriously considering the prospect of rewarding midfielder Jack Wilshere with a new contract following the promise shown in the early part of the campaign.
The England international has largely featured for the Gunners in the Europa League, where his performances have been praised by manager Arsene Wenger.
According to The Sun, the Gunners' hierarchy are expected to hold talks over a fresh deal with the playmaker with his existing contract due to expire at the end of the campaign.
Wilshere is in a similar situation as Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, but the club are more confident of cementing the future of the 25-year-old, who is desperate to play regular first-team football at the Emirates.
The Stevenage-born ace made his first league appearance for Arsenal in over two years this afternoon, and he managed to make a contribution with a precise assist for Aaron Ramsey - coming off the bench.
Arsenal trailed Everton by a 1-0 scoreline early in the game, but they came back strongly to secure a 5-2 triumph over the Toffees at Goodison Park.
