Manchester United to bid for Marcos Alonso?
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing another raid on former club Chelsea at the end of the season. The Portuguese tactician is plotting a move for Marcos Alonso, who has been one of the Blues' standout performers under Antonio Conte.
According to Don Balon, Mourinho is keen to find a long-term replacement for Ashley Young, and Alonso has been earmarked as the prime target. It is added that the Mancunian giants could be prepared to pay as much as £70m in order to tempt the Blues into a summer deal.
Despite the speculation, it would come as a surprise, if the Blues consider an offer from the Red Devils, given the success which Nemanja Matic has found since swapping between the clubs.
Alonso has also associated with a potential return to Real Madrid previously, and the Blues' hierarchy may have their task cut out to fend off interest from the European champions.
