Luke Shaw to join Newcastle United?
Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is plotting a surprise approach for Manchester United outcast Luke Shaw at the end of the season.
The England international has played second fiddle to Ashley Young for the left-back spot for most of the season, and it now appears that he could be heading for a summer exit after being publicly criticised by Jose Mourinho.
According to The Chronicle, Magpies boss Benitez could make a fresh attempt to sign Shaw after having missed on his signature during the winter transfer window.
The Tyneside outfit had made an enquiry over the Englishman's services in January, but they were put off by the Red Devils' £20m asking price for the left-back.
Manchester United have already begun their search for a potential replacement for Shaw, and Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon has been identified as their newest target, according to The Sun.
Shaw is widely regarded as one of the most promising left-backs in the Premier League, but it seems that the limited gametime with United is likely to see him miss the summer World Cup.
