Gianluigi Donnarumma available for just £35m
Manchester United and Chelsea have received a boost in the pursuit of AC Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma, who may be available for just £35m during the summer.
The teenager was one of the most-sought after players during last summer's transfer window, before he committed his future to the Rossoneri on a fresh four-year deal.
Donnarumma has since put in a number of impressive performances to enhance the club's chances of Champions League football, but their failure to qualify for the elite competition could see him leave San Siro.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Donnarumma currently has an £87m release clause on his existing deal, but the Rossoneri could sanction his exit for less than half of the price.
The failure to qualify for next season's Champions League is expected to affect the club financially, and this will force them to balance the books with the £35m sale of their leading performer.
Both Manchester United and Chelsea are said to be monitoring the situation as they remain uncertain over the futures of David de Gea and Thibaut Courtois respectively beyond the summer.
Milan are currently sixth in the Serie A standings with 50 points, five behind arch-rivals Inter, who are presently occupying the final Champions League spot in fourth position.
