Chelsea ready to make fresh Koulibaly bid on one condition

Koulibaly's pursuit could depend on Conte's future

Chelsea could reportedly revive their interest in Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly during the summer transfer window.

The Senegal international had been strongly linked with the Blues last year, but Napoli opted to decline the Blues' £50m approach for the centre-back.

Despite this, the Blues are still said to hold an interest in the 26-year-old, and according to Corriere dello Sport, they may make a fresh bid for the French-born defender.

As per the report, the Capital outfit are prepared to match Napoli's £60m valuation in full for Koulibaly, but the deal may depend on the future of Antonio Conte.

Conte has been at odds with the club's hierarchy for failing to receive full control over the transfer proceedings, and his potential exit in the summer may change the club's priorities in the market based on the new head coach.

Koulibaly has managed 36 appearances in all competitions for Napoli this term, contributing four goals and a single assist. His current deal runs until the summer of 2021.
