Chelsea make decision on Antonio Conte's immediate future
Chelsea have reportedly decided against terminating the contract of manager Antonio Conte before the end of the season. The Blues are more or less out of the top four hunt, but they could still have a good end to the campaign by lifting the FA Cup.
According to The Times, the Blues are likely to wait until the end of next month before deciding on cutting ties with Conte. The west London outfit are hopeful of avoiding a heavy compensation, but this depends on whether an elite club can approach to match Conte's wages.
Paris Saint-Germain were deemed to be interested in Conte earlier last month, but the Blues appear to have received a significant blow with ESPN suggesting that the French outfit already have a deal in place with ex-Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea dropped 10 points behind close rivals Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur after their 1-1 stalemate versus West Ham United on Sunday, and they now face an almost improbable task of qualifying for next season's Champions League, barring a miracle.
