Manchester United plan to trigger release clause of Serie full-back
Manchester United are reportedly interested in lodging a summer approach to sign Albanian defender Elseid Hysaj from Serie A side Napoli.
United boss Jose Mourinho has relied upon Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young for the full-back positions this term but the Portuguese is likely to pursue long-term replacements during this summer's transfer window.
According to The Sun, the 55-year-old has given the go-ahead to trigger the £44m release clause which is currently attached to the contract of Hysaj.
The Albania international has spent three seasons with the Naples outfit and during this period, he has made 132 appearances, most of which have come on the right side of the backline.
He presently has just over three years left on his existing deal but his present release clause is likely to attract plenty of interest before the transfer window reopens.
Manchester United recently ended their Premier League season with an 81-point tally and they should now have their focus on winning the FA Cup against Chelsea this weekend.
