Napoli snub Manchester City bid for Jorginho
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that his side has snubbed a transfer bid from Manchester City for leading midfielder Jorginho.
City boss Pep Guardiola is keen on bolstering his midfield during the summer transfer window with Fernando having entered the twilight of his career whilst Yaya Toure has already left the club.
As such, Jorginho has been earmarked as the prime candidate to strengthen the midfield ranks though the club are yet to sort out a transfer fee with Napoli.
Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, De Laurentiis revealed that Napoli have refused the Citizen's initial offer for the Brazilian-born midfielder, he said: "Jorginho? I have refused an offer from Man City worth €45m plus €5m in bonuses."
Despite the rejection, City are widely expected to come up with a fresh bid for the Italy international, who is said to have already agreed personal terms over a switch to the Etihad Stadium.
