Leno on the cusp of Arsenal move?

Arsenal have reportedly agreed on a £22m move to pursue the signature of German goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen.

The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with the Gunners over the past few weeks and it is now revealed that the club are on the cusp of signing the shot-stopper.

According to SportBild, the north London club are expected to make an imminent announcement regarding the arrival of the Germany international, who was picked in his country's preliminary squad for the World Cup.

Leno is most likely to replace Petr Cech between the sticks next season, although manager Unai Emery may consider the latter for the position first in order to allow the German to adapt to the English top-flight.

Leno, who made 38 appearances for Leverkusen last term, has missed just six league games over the past seven seasons with the Bundesliga outfit. His current deal only expires only in June 2020 and has attracted interest from Napoli previously.
