Liverpool midfielder on verge of Juventus transfer

Emre Can news

Can to join Juventus

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is reportedly close to securing his move to Juventus on a free transfer. The Reds have already confirmed that the midfielder would be leaving the club at the expiry of his contract this month.

Can, 24, has been associated with a number of European clubs including Manchester City over the past year but according to Football Italia, long-term admirers Juventus are said to have won the race for his signature.

The German is understood to have already undergone the first part of his medical and he is now expected to report at the J-Medical facility on Friday morning to complete the rest of the procedure.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp had expressed a keen desire to extend Can's stay over the course of the 2017/18 season but the midfielder's reluctance witnessed the club pursue the signature of Fabinho from AS Monaco.

Alongside Fabinho, RB Leipzig's Naby Keita is due to join the club this summer as part of a pre-agreement finalised last year and the pair are likely to shore up the club's midfield further ahead of next season.
