Everton to part ways with Ashley Williams?
New Everton manager Marco Silva has reportedly earmarked Ashley Williams as one of the players, who will be shown the exit door during the summer transfer window.
The Wales international had a rather disappointing 2017/18 campaign like many of his teammates and according to The Mirror, the Toffees are prepared to listen to offer for his services.
Both Silva and Toffees director of football Marcel Brands are keen on offloading fringe players to reduce the wage bill and this is expected to enhance the arrival of fresh recruits at Goodison Park.
So far, the Merseyside outfit have not found a suitable player to strengthen the heart of the defence but based on reports, Middlesbrough's Ben Gibson has been identified as one of the prime targets.
The Toffees are also keen on bolstering the centre of the park and Arsenal's Jack Wilshere has been touted as a cut-price option to fulfil the role. Wilshere is due to leave the Gunners on a free next month and the Toffees could get him on the cheap, provided they agree upon his wages and signing-on fee.
