Manchester United agree two-year deal with Marouane Fellaini
Manchester United have reportedly convinced midfielder Marouane Fellaini to stay put with the club.
The Belgium international had initially expected to leave the Red Devils on a free next month but the club seem to have convinced him to stay with their latest offer.
According to HLN, Fellaini is likely to announce his decision to remain at Old Trafford on July 1 after having agreed to a fresh two-year contract. No further details have been mentioned but the midfielder is likely to receive a 25 per cent increase on his current £80,000-a-week wages.
United boss Jose Mourinho had earlier cited that he may pursue another recruit, should Fellaini leave the club but the midfielder's recent U-turn is expected to end their pursuit of a potential replacement.
In this case, the focus could once more be placed on bolstering the heart of the defence with AC Milan's Leonardo Bonucci and Atletico Madrid's Diego Godin highlighted as probable options to add experience to the backline.
