England coach, Gareth Southgate has said that he is unhappy with the defeat to Belgium in their final group game on Thursday night.

The Three Lions lost by one goal to nothing after former Manchester United winger, Adnan Januzaj curled in the winner in the 51st minute.

The defeat means that Southgate's men finish second in the group, and will face South American side Colombia in the second round.

"We are not happy to be beaten but we had double objectives tonight. The knockout game is the biggest game for a decade for us," he said, the BBC reports.

Both teams rested their top players for this final game, but the Belgians showed that they have the better bench.

Ahead of their clash with Colombia, England will be hoping to make it to the quarter-finals for the first time since the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

In the last two editions of the tournament in South Africa and Brazil, the 1966 champions have crashed out in the round of 16 and group stage respectively.

England will face Colombia on the 3rd of July in Moscow.
