Liverpool revive transfer talks for Lyon captain

Fekir back on Liverpool radar?

Liverpool have reportedly revived their interest in signing Lyon captain Nabil Fekir during the ongoing transfer window.

The 24-year-old had been on the verge of joining the Reds prior to the summer World Cup but the deal collapsed owing to concerns over the player's injury record.

Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas had thereafter suggested that the negotiations had concluded between the sides but The Mirror suggests that the Reds are back in for the highly-rated playmaker.

Nevertheless, the Merseyside outfit may not get their player for the same £53m sum as previously agreed with reports in France suggesting that Les Gones have upped Fekir's asking price to the £62m mark.

Reds' rivals Manchester United have also been associated with a move for the Frenchman amid concerns over Anthony Martial's apparent desire to leave Old Trafford.

Fekir is presently with the France national team at the World Cup finals in Russia. He has yet to make a start for Les Bleus at the tournament with all four of his appearances coming off the bench.
