Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has admitted that the lack of young English kids available has meant he has had to turn abroad to find new players. Portsmouth are trialling two mystery youngsters.

“We have had a couple of kids in from Trinidad this week who look very good players, but you think, ‘Where are the English kids?,’” he told The Times.

“They are not playing in the streets, we are not producing, and I don’t see a great amount of talent about. I watch youth games and I don’t see too many like Joe Cole or Rio Ferdinand coming through.”
