Liverpool have reportedly refused to rule out a summer move for Stoke City ace Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Switzerland international has been tipped to leave the Potters in the ongoing transfer window with the Reds and Manchester United among his prime admirers.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp is still keen on pursuing the 26-year-old, although the Reds are yet to make a formal approach for his services.

Shaqiri has openly stated that he would prefer returning to the top-flight after Stoke were relegated and he could be prised away for a relatively cheap fee of £12m as per a relegation break clause on his contract.

The Swiss was one of the leading performers for Stoke in the Premier League last term and he contributed eight goals and seven assists in 36 outings.

He was most-recently part of the Swiss national side which progressed until the round of 16 stage of the World Cup. He has two years left on his Potters deal.
