Spanish champions Barcelona have lodged a formal bid to acquire the signature of Willian from Chelsea this summer.

The Brazil international has been one of the club's standout performers over the past five seasons but he is said to be mulling over a fresh challenge elsewhere.

According to The Mail, the Blaugrana have made a fresh offer of £60m for the attacker after their initial bid worth £50m was turned down by the west London giants.

Willian has not commented regarding the speculation as of yet but reports in Italy have suggested that incoming boss Maurizio Sarri is keen on keeping hold of the Brazilian.

Sarri is expected to takeover from Antonio Conte in next 24 hours and there have been claims that the Italian won't entertain the exits of Willian and Eden Hazard upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid in the past few days with the European champions having identified him as the ideal replacement for the departed Cristiano Ronaldo.
