Mourinho makes United prediction based on current transfer situation
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has said that the Old Trafford side face a difficult season if they fail to strengthen their squad before the close of the transfer window.
With the transfer window closing on Thursday evening, United have already completed the signing of defender Diogo Dalot, midfielder Fred and goalkeeper Lee Grant.
Mourinho pointed out that his rivals in the Premier League possess a stronger squad than United currently have, citing Liverpool in his comment.
Speaking to MUTV, he said: "If we don't make our team better it will be a difficult season for us."
In the current transfer window, Liverpool have completed the signing of Fabinho, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Becker.
While Spurs are yet to make a single signing, Arsenal have made numerous signings including Lucas Torreira and goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
Chelsea have completed the signing of Jorginho from Napoli and former England goalkeeper Robert Green on a free transfer.
United's rivals Manchester City have completed the signing of Premier League winner Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City.
