Thibaut Courtois reacts to joining Real Madrid
Thibaut Courtois has reacted to joining Real Madrid by describing the move as a dream come true.
After weeks of speculation linking him to the Spanish side, the player finally joined them for a fee, reported to be £35m.
He has signed a six-year deal with the UEFA Champions League holders. Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic joined Chelsea on loan as part of the deal.
"Today I am realising a dream," said Courtois, the BBC reports. "This is the best club in the world."
In a Facebook post, Courtois went further to say that Chelsea will always have a place in his heart - thanking the fans for their support over the years.
He also reiterated that being close to his children played a huge role in his move to Madrid.
After performing wonderfully well at the World Cup in Russia, it is fair to say that Real Madrid have got themselves another Galactico after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus this summer.
