Schalke interested in Chelsea midfielder

Schalke 04 are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan, according to the Telegraph.

The player is being linked to various European clubs, and has interested Crystal Palace, the club where he played on loan last season.

Despite the interest in the England international, Chelsea are highly unlikely to allow him go on loan.

According to the Guardian, the Chelsea academy graduate is willing to stay at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place.

He came on as a second half substitute in the Blues' 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town over the weekend.

Before the start of the season, Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri revealed his desire to give Ruben an opportunity to impress him after returning from his vacation.

With the season just beginning, it remains to be seen if Loftus-Cheek will be able to convince the former Napoli boss that he can play on a very consistent level.

He played 24 Premier League games for Crystal Palace last season, scoring twice and assisting three goals.
