Sergio Ramos takes a swipe at Klopp's final failures
Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has taken a swipe at Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp over the number of finals he has lost.
Ramos was blamed for intentionally injuring Mohamed Salah in Liverpool's 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final in May, with the former Dortmund boss recently describing the Spaniard's actions in the game as “ruthless and brutal”.
Speaking ahead of Real's UEFA Super Cup final against Atletico Madrid, Ramos reiterated his stance that he did not injure Salah intentionally.
“He will be wanting to explain not winning the final, but it’s not the first that he has lost," he said, the Liverpool Echo reports.
Klopp has lost his last five major finals, but Liverpool fans will be hoping that changes this season with all the signings they have made during the transfer window.
Liverpool began their Premier League season stunningly, defeating West Ham United by four goals to nothing at Anfield. They face Crystal Palace in their second game next Monday.
