Campbell heading to the Serie A

Serie A newcomers Frosinone are reportedly on the cusp of landing the signature of Joel Campbell from Arsenal this month.

The Costa Rica international has been with the Gunners since the summer of 2011 but during his period, he has managed just 40 appearances across all competitions.

According to Gianluca di Marzio, the 26-year-old is now edging closer to leaving the north London club with Frosinone leading the race for his signature.

It is added that the Italian minnows have already made contact with Gunners' officials and they are keen to push through a permanent move before the Italian transfer deadline on Friday.

Campbell presently has under a year left on his existing contract with the Gunners and he has already been ignored by new boss Unai Emery, who has invited offers for his services.

Apart from Campbell, Emery has tipped David Ospina and Carl Jenkinson to head through the Emirates exit door. The Gunners started their league campaign with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City.
