Mourinho pleased for Shaw after England recall

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho feels Luke Shaw has deserved his recall to the England national side after making a bright start to the Premier League season.

The 23-year-old largely played second fiddle to Ashley Young at left-back during the previous campaign and this cost him a spot with the Three Lions for the summer World Cup.

However, he has now managed to work his way back into the national setup after impressing for the Red Devils this term and Mourinho is certainly pleased with the defender's recall.

"It is a big week for him that ends with a very important match against Burnley. That is the most important thing. I think to go to the national team after three Premier League matches is for him an extraordinary feeling," he is quoted by Sky Sports News.

Earlier this summer, Shaw was being heavily linked with a United exit with his contract expiring in 12 months' time. But he decided to fight for his future and this has paid dividends with him being able to a command a regular starting role ahead of Young.

Shaw, who has already contributed a goal and an assist for United this season, is expected to compete with Danny Rose for the left wing-back role with England when they face Spain and Switzerland during the international break.
