Chelsea boss sends warning to Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Sarri wants Loftus-Cheek to improve tactically

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has said that Ruben Loftus-Cheek needs to improve the tactical facet of his game, if he is to be considered on a regular basis.

The 22-year-old has made just one substitute appearance for the Blues this term and this has come about with the likes of Jorginho, N'Golo Kante, Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic ahead of him in the pecking order.

A recent report suggested that the midfielder was unhappy after being denied the chance to pursue a loan exit and Sarri has now suggested that he needs to improve tactically to make the starting lineup more often.

"He has to improve in order to play my football. He has great qualities from a physical point of view, and technical point of view. I think he needs to improve from the tactical point of view, nothing else," he said via Metro.

He added that the Englishman may receive reasonable gametime from the month of September where the Blues are expected to feature across three competitions.

Chelsea have made the perfect start to the Premier League campaign with nine points from the opening three games and they are scheduled to host Bournemouth in their next league meeting on Saturday.
