Tammy Abraham completes Aston Villa loan switch
England youth international Tammy Abraham has made a loan move to Championship side Aston Villa from Chelsea. The striker has revealed that calls from the club's top players had persuaded him to make the move to Birmingham.
Abraham is widely regarded as one of England's brightest young striking prospects but had a disappointing campaign at Swansea City last season, who were relegated from the Premier League.
However, Aston Villa are this season confident that they can be promoted to the top flight and the signing of Tammy Abraham is seen as a major coup.
Abraham revealed that John Terry and Jack Grealish had both called him to persuade him to make the transfer: “He (Terry) was one of the first people to call me and said it was a great club and he enjoyed every minute here. He said I would like it, like the manager, like the players and I believed him so I’m here.”
Tammy Abraham reportedly chose Aston Villa ahead of a return to Swansea City as well as last minute interest from Cardiff City.
