August's Premier League player of the month revealed

Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Lucas Moura has been named August's Premier League player of the month.

The Brazilian was in fine form in the month of August, scoring three goals in four league games for Mauricio Pochettino's men.

Two of the goals came in Spurs' three nil win over Manchester United at the Theatre of Dreams.

The player's form has helped his side collect 9 points from a possible twelve in the opening games of the Premier League season.

Tottenham completed the signing of Moura from Paris Saint-Germain for £23m in January and he made six Premier League appearances for Spurs last season.

With his performance so far, the 26-year-old is expected to be one of Spurs' top players as they seek to maintain or better their third place finish in the league last term.

After losing to Watford before the international break, Pochettino's men will face Liverpool when play resumes next week.

Both Liverpool and Watford have a perfect record in the league this season.
