Martin Keown wants Arsenal to build team around this player
Former Arsenal star Martin Keown believes manager Unai Emery should build the team around Alexandre Lacazette who has shown splendid application since the start of the season.
The France international begun the first three matches of the season from the substitutes' bench before starting against Cardiff City, where he contributed a goal and an assist.
In a report covered by The Mail, Keown hailed the attitude and patience of the French striker and feels the marksman should be the player around whom Emery should build the side.
“How patient has that man been? His attitude has been impeccable. Emery used him as a substitute in his first three Premier League matches, then he finally gets to start against Cardiff," he said.
“So what does he do? He goes and scores the winner. Lacazette now has to play and be the person they build around. Full credit to him for his application.”
Lacazette struggled with injury and form issues during his maiden season in the Premier League last term and he ended the campaign with just 14 goals from 32 matches.
The current season, however, has witnessed a better display from him despite being a regular substitute and he could now command a regular role after his man of the match performance at Cardiff last weekend.
