Shaw in no rush to pen United contract

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is reportedly in no rush to sign a new long-term contract with the Old Trafford outfit.

The 23-year-old made his comeback to the England national side earlier this week after being given an extended run of games under Jose Mourinho.

Despite this, Shaw is in no hurry to pen an extension with the Red Devils as he is still said to have a strained relationship with the club's head coach.

According to Metro, Shaw is expected to play the waiting game through the first half of the campaign and a decision over his future may only be made after the turn of the year.

Shaw barely got an extended run under Mourinho during the previous campaign and he has fared much better this term with starts in each of the first four league matches.

Moreover, he has also contributed a goal and an assist in this period and he was recently named as the club's Player of the Month for August in the fan poll conducted on Twitter.

Shaw suffered a nasty head collision during the 2-1 Nations League defeat to Spain on Saturday night and it will be interesting to see whether that would hamper his gametime in the forthcoming months.
