Arsenal midfielder suffers injury blow on international duty
Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has supposedly suffered a minor calf injury on international duty with Uruguay which may keep him out of the weekend game at Newcastle United.
The Uruguayan sustained the knock during the first half of the 4-1 friendly win over Mexico and subsequently, he was substituted at the interval after which he required an ice pack on his left calf.
According to Standard Sport, the Gunners are now sweating over the fitness of their summer signing and any concerns may witness him miss the Magpies game altogether.
Torreira has not managed to command a starting role since the beginning of the season and this has resulted from Unai Emery keeping the faith on fellow summer signing Mateo Guendouzi.
Despite this, the midfielder provided a match-defining assist against Cardiff City which should itself warrant a starting spot, though that now looks doubtful with the current injury situation.
