Manchester City to reopen Sterling contract talks
Manchester City to reopen Sterling contract talks
Manchester City are set to reopen contract talks with Raheem Sterling later this month, according to the Sun.
This is coming after reports claimed that negotiations over a new deal broke down.
The former Liverpool man is in his penultimate season in his current deal at the Etihad, with a new contract not yet agreed with the club.
The player's representatives have reportedly not met with City regarding contract negotiations, but all that is set to change this month.
City coach Pep Guardiola has made it known that he wants the player to stay with the reigning champions.
He said: "It's well known that we are delighted with him and we want him to continue."
Sterling was one of City's star performers last season, and has continued his good form this term.
Manchester City will face Olympique Lyon in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday to begin their European campaign this season, before facing Cardiff City in the Premier League this weekend.
