Arsenal and Manchester United eye move for German youngster
Arsenal and Manchester United are eyeing a move Germany's Under-21 star Arne Maier, according to Sport Bild.
The two Premier League sides have reportedly watched the 19-year-old Hertha Berlin player intensively, and both clubs could be set to do battle for the defensive midfielder, according to reports in Germany.
After making 17 Bundesliga appearances last season, he has played in all three of Hertha Berlin's league games this season.
His current contract with the German side expires in 2020 having signed an extension in February this year.
With the two sides interested, it remains to be seen who will be victorious in getting the player.
United and Arsenal head into the weekend on the back of impressive wins in Europe, with Jose Mourinho's men defeating Young Boys by three goals to nothing in the Champions League on Wednesday. Arsenal on the other hand defeated Ukranian side Vorskla in the Europa League by four goals to two.
Arsenal will face Everton, while United will play Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League this weekend.
